FAQ

Asset-based lenders focus on the quality and performance of the underlying collateral and less so on the borrower’s financial condition, management or ownership. Asset-based lending typically require much less time to complete compared to traditional lending, which is demeaning, complicated, and often takes several months to approve.

The Small Business Administration requires a personal guarantee from every owner having at least a 20% ownership stake.

Contract factoring requires that you factor all or nearly all your invoices. Spot factoring allows you to select what invoices you would like to factor.

Once approved for an invoice factoring line of credit, submit some or all of your invoices to the factoring company. The company then sends you a cash advance, typically between 80%-90% of the invoiced amount, and processes the invoices with your clients. Once a client pays, the factoring company sends you the balance of the invoice amount, less fees.

With recourse invoice factoring, you are responsible for any invoiced amounts your customers refuse to pay. With non-recourse factoring, the factoring company assumes the risk of the uncollected debt. Non-recourse factoring has higher fees because the factoring company assumes the default risk of the debt.
